Social media has definitely made people closer to other parts of the world, i have an positive impact people using social networks, like Facebook or Twitter, is to stay in touch with people. Social networks has provide us the opportunity to connect with people, build better relationships with friends who we are unable to meet personally and also help you keep in touch with people you hadn't talk to or seen in years. In the book"Networked- The new social operating system" by Lee Rainie and Barry Wellman, the two authors reflect on positive effects of social media other internet based social network. According to the author, social media is used to document memories,learn about ans explore things, advertise oneself and form friendships. About 47% of American adult used social networking site like Myspace, Linkdin and classmates.com in 2011, up from 26% in 2008. On social media site like these, user could develop biographical profiles, communicate with friends and stranger, do research, and share thoughts picture,links and more. So i think social media is really good for society, specially for students, teachers, business people
